Deerpark robotics team has been working with professionals from all over the country. Students worked with Mr. Duffy, an engineer with National Instruments to help them with their programming questions, and they had a video conference with a Marine Biologist who is earning her PhD from Harvard, Vanessa Knutson, to learn more about Coral, and how Coral health is determined. The students are getting some wonderful experience working with adults in our community, and learning what it takes to become an expert in your field of study.
Robotics students are required to find a problem that occurs with human interactions with animals and come up with a unique solution. If their solution is feasible, they are encouraged to get a patent for their idea and pursue it’s production.
